This is what we spent most of the weekend doing – trying to organize the chaos that comes with updating a room. We got about 45 – 50% of it done. I can’t be certain, because it still feels like there is 100% left to do. That’s the thing about life and about changing your home to fit your needs, they get all tangled and it seems like one is always trying to take over the other.
In an effort to find that sweet spot, where the two get along, we decided to take a break from the mess. We all got in the car and headed for PetSmart. We were hoping the local animal shelter would be outside so we could show Eleanor the dogs. She is obsessed with dogs. She calls all of them puppies and will scream, jump, point, and squeal anytime she sees one. Unfortunately, the animal shelter wasn’t there. We decided to drive over to the park instead.
It’s still nice and breezy here, so it wasn’t too hot to be enjoyable. (I’m sure that weather is just around the corner.) We stayed less than an hour, but it was still nice to be outside.
These were all taken with my $30 phone, so the quality isn’t that great, but it’s part of just being in the moment, right? Before we left, I had the kids sit together and take a photo.
I snapped this right before I realized I was standing in an ant pile. These are the other photos I (somehow) took as I was dropping my phone and frantically brushing ants off my feet.
Michael and I got a good laugh out of those last two photos. So, that’s it. It’s not always room renovations and paint projects around here. Sometimes it’s finding time to just be. Learning how to balance life. Chaotic, messy, fun life.
