It is with heavy hearts that we find ourselves this morning. Yesterday, I talked about celebrating 10 years of marriage with Michael. In that post and on our About page I mention being from Louisiana. While I didn’t live in Lafayette, I do have family and close friends who live there. I also frequented The Grand where the shooting occurred, and if Michael and I had been in Louisiana for our anniversary, we probably would have been at that theater last night.
Our hearts and prayers are with all of those effected and involved. We are grateful for the swift response of law enforcement and first responders.
“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” To this day, especially in times of “disaster,” I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.” Fred Rogers
